⚠️ Important 2026 update : Thailand visa exemption reform approved but NOT yet in effect
Thailand's Cabinet approved (19-21 May 2026) a plan to replace the 60-day visa-free scheme with a 30-day exemption for 54 countries (Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, UK, US, etc.) and a 15-day exemption for 3 countries (Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles). However, as of early July 2026 this reform has NOT yet taken effect : it still requires publication in the Royal Gazette, which starts a 15-day countdown before entry into force, and that publication has not happened yet. The current rule therefore remains the 60-day visa exemption. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is mandatory and replaces the paper TM6.
