Nationals of 60 countries and territories, including France, can enter without a visa for a tourist stay of up to 30 days; Seychelles and Mauritius qualify for 15 days. Beyond this period, or if your nationality is not exempt, you must obtain a visa before departure on the official portal thaievisa.go.th. The free TDAC must still be completed before arrival.

The official Thai e-Visa portal lets you apply online for most Thai visas: tourist visa (TR), transit visa (TS), Non-Immigrant visas (B for business, O for family, ED for study, O-A for retirement) or the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV). The single-entry TR tourist visa generally allows a stay of 60 days from arrival, subject to the decision and conditions of the visa issued. Before applying, check whether your nationality is visa-exempt for the length of your stay.

Who needs this visa?
Nationals of 60 countries and territories, including France, can enter without a visa for a tourist stay of up to 30 days; other durations apply under bilateral agreements. Travelers who wish to stay longer, who are not exempt or who are traveling for a purpose other than tourism must obtain a visa before departure. Application process
- Go to the official Thai e-Visa portal, thaievisa.go.th, and create an account.
- Select the place of application (the embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence) and the visa category.
- Complete the form: personal, passport and travel information.
- Upload the required supporting documents: photo, passport data page, flight booking, proof of accommodation, proof of funds.
- Pay the official fees online.
- Wait for the decision: processing times vary according to the category, the application and the embassy. Do not book non-refundable travel before you have received your visa.
- Keep the confirmation you receive by email. Within the 72 hours before arrival, complete the TDAC on tdac.immigration.go.th.

What is the Thai e-Visa?
It is Thailand's official online visa application system, on thaievisa.go.th. It replaces in-person applications for most visa categories; some embassies may still ask for an appointment or for your passport to be submitted.
How much does the TR tourist visa cost?
The fees depend on the place of application and are shown on thaievisa.go.th at the time of application. For an application submitted from France, the Royal Thai Embassy in France states 35 €. Fees for transit and non-immigrant visas are shown on the portal according to the category.
How long can I stay in Thailand with a tourist visa?
The single-entry TR tourist visa generally allows a stay of 60 days from arrival, subject to the decision and conditions of the visa issued. A one-month extension can be requested at an immigration office (1,900 THB according to the embassy); it is never automatic.
Does the TDAC replace the visa?
No. The TDAC is a digital arrival formality, free on the official portal tdac.immigration.go.th. It does not replace the visa when one is required.
Do I still need to go to the embassy?
In most cases, the procedure is entirely online. However, some embassies may ask for an appointment or for your passport to be submitted: follow the instructions shown on thaievisa.go.th for your place of application.
