Overview of Nepal Entry Requirements 2026

Nepal issues tourist visas online via eVisa at immigration.gov.np and on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and designated land border checkpoints. Citizens of India and SAARC countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka) enter Nepal visa-free or under special arrangements. Nationals of China may also have specific bilateral agreements — check immigration.gov.np.

Diplomatic passport holders of many countries receive visa-free access. Some restricted nationalities require advance visa approval from the Department of Immigration. Mountaineers and trekkers requiring expedition permits need additional clearances beyond the standard tourist visa.
