Important 2026 update : Greece: Golden Visa thresholds restructured, ETIAS not yet in operation
The Greek Golden Visa thresholds were restructured: €800,000 in Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu, Rhodes, Crete and Zakynthos; €400,000 elsewhere (minimum 120 m²); €250,000 only for renovation/conversion projects or the new Start-Up Investment route. The 5-year permit now runs from issuance, not application date. The European EES is fully operational since 10 April 2026.

Do Korean Citizens Need a Visa for Greece?
South Korean passport holders enjoy visa-free access to Greece and the entire Schengen Area for short stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. No visa application is required for tourism, visiting family, or short business trips.

Cost & Validity for Korean Travellers
ETIAS is not yet in operation. No ETIAS travel-authorisation applications are currently being accepted. The European Union will announce the exact start date several months before launch. Until ETIAS becomes operational, eligible visa-exempt travellers do not need an ETIAS authorisation for a short stay. Once the system starts, the official ETIAS application fee is expected to be €20, subject to the official EU rules in force at that time.
Length of Stay & Overstaying Greece
The standard tourist stay for Korean citizens is 90 days in any 180-day period. Overstaying this limit in Greece can lead to fines, deportation and a temporary re-entry ban, so track your permitted days carefully. If you need longer, enquire about an extension or a different visa category with Greece’s immigration authority before your authorised stay expires.
