Saudi Arabia eVisa & Travel Information (2026)

Introduction

Saudi Arabia opened to international tourism in September 2019 as part of Vision 2030. Top attractions include NEOM, AlUla, Diriyah, Mada'in Saleh, the Red Sea coast and the holy cities of Mecca and Medina (non-Muslims are not permitted in Mecca). The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) manages immigration.

Saudi Tourist eVisa

Citizens of 60+ countries (including the US, UK, EU, Australia, Japan, Canada and many others) can apply online at visa.visitsaudi.com. The eVisa allows multiple entries, up to 90 days per visit and 180 days total per year. The fee is SAR 300 (~USD 80) plus mandatory medical insurance of SAR 140 (~USD 37). Approval is usually instant or within 24 hours.

Dress Code & Rules

Saudi Arabia has relaxed many social restrictions. Female tourists are not required to wear an abaya, but modest dress is expected in public spaces, religious sites and conservative areas. Alcohol remains prohibited. Always carry your passport or a copy.
