Macau is a Special Administrative Region of China but operates a completely separate immigration system. A Chinese visa does not allow entry to Macau, and a Macau entry stamp does not allow entry to mainland China. Travelers crossing between Zhuhai (mainland) and Macau must clear immigration in both directions.

The 144-hour visa-free transit policy applies to Zhuhai for many nationalities flying through.
