Extensions are typically granted in increments of up to 6 months, subject to the officer's discretion, and the total stay including extension usually cannot exceed 6 months in a calendar year.

1. Register on the e-FRRO portal
   Visit indianfrro.gov.in and create an account. Complete the online application form for a visa extension and upload the required documents.
2. Book an appointment
   After submitting the form, book an in-person appointment at your nearest FRRO/FRO office. Walk-in visits are generally not accepted.
3. Attend your appointment
   Arrive at the FRRO with all original documents and photocopies. The officer will review your case and may ask questions about your purpose of stay.
4. Pay the fee
   Pay the extension fee (approx. USD 30 equivalent in INR) as directed by the FRRO officer, usually via demand draft or online payment.
5. Receive the extension endorsement
