Our Research & Editorial Methodology

Last updated: March 2026  •  eVisa-Card.com Editorial Team

Our Commitment to Accuracy

eVisa-Card.com provides independent visa and entry-requirement research for international travellers. Our team of immigration researchers and former consular specialists compiles information exclusively from official government and embassy sources. Every page is reviewed on a monthly cycle and corrected within 48 hours of any confirmed policy change.

We do not accept payment to alter visa status descriptions, fee amounts, or editorial assessments. Sponsored content, where present, is clearly labelled.

Official Sources Only

We cite only government immigration portals, embassy websites, and official bilateral treaty texts — never travel forums or aggregator databases.

Monthly Review Cycle

Every country-pair page is audited monthly. Breaking changes (fee increases, new e-Visa systems, visa suspensions) are reflected within 48 hours of confirmation.

3-Source Verification

All visa status claims are cross-referenced against at least three independent official sources before publication, including the destination country, origin country, and IATA TIM data.

1. How We Gather Visa Data

Our research process begins with primary official sources. For each country-pair, our team consults:

  • The destination country's official immigration or border control portal (e.g., the UK Visas & Immigration website for the United Kingdom, USCIS and travel.state.gov for the United States)
  • The origin country's foreign ministry travel advisories, which often include reciprocal visa information
  • Embassy and consulate websites of the destination country located in the origin country
  • Official bilateral agreements and treaty databases (ASEAN, EU, Commonwealth, Mercosur etc.) where applicable
  • IATA Travel Information Manual (TIM) data, used by airlines worldwide to verify passenger eligibility

We do not rely on third-party aggregators, travel blogs, or community forums as primary sources. These may be used to identify discrepancies that trigger further investigation from official portals.

2. How We Verify Information

Every visa status claim published on eVisa-Card.com is verified using a minimum of three independent official sources before publication. Our verification workflow:

  1. Primary source check: Confirm current visa status on the destination country's official immigration portal.
  2. Secondary source check: Cross-reference with the origin country's foreign affairs ministry travel page or official reciprocal visa list.
  3. Tertiary source check: Validate against the destination country's embassy website in the origin country (where available), or IATA TIM data.
  4. Conflict resolution: Where sources conflict, we note the discrepancy and apply the most conservative (most restrictive) interpretation, pending official clarification. Conflicting data is flagged with an editorial note on the page.
  5. Fee verification: All visa fees are confirmed from official fee schedules. We note the currency and indicate whether fees are subject to exchange-rate fluctuation.

Corrections or challenges to any published information can be submitted via our editorial contact address. We commit to investigating and responding within 5 business days.

3. Update Frequency & Corrections Policy

Visa and entry requirements can change with little or no public notice. Our update schedule:
